Description

Kötlurit by Þorstein Magnússon. Translated by Leif A. Símonarson and foreword by him and Snæ Jóhannesson. Sigurður Þórarinsson writes about Þorstein Magnússon and the Katlu eruption of 1625. It says that the book was printed in Copenhagen in 1627 by the printer Niels Heldvad and that it is only 8 pages. It is now one of the rarest printed publications on Iceland. Þorsteinn is the main source for the Katla eruption of 1625. The book is wire bound in a cardboard cover, 16 X 23 cm. to size and 30 p.

Publishing and printing :
Bókaútgáfan Lögberg, Reykjavík 1987. Printed as a manuscript in 100 numbered copies and this is the gift copy. Photocopying, installation and printing were handled by Oddi hf.
